My Story

My name is Nour, and I’m the creator of The Brave Project Mentorship program. Brave is both the philosophy I live by and the method I now teach. It, however, wasn’t something I just stumbled upon, or that I was inspired to build; I guess I created it because I didn’t have a choice!

I am Lebanese, born in the United States and raised in Beirut. Early on, I learned that courage was a core skill, and I thought, “Well, I don’t have it, I’m scared of everything.” I did not self-identify as a Brave person. I was actively trying to live the safest, most contained life possible, but I always felt that my path was going to be anything but ordinary.

So I made a grand plan!

Do it all before 30: the highest Academic degree, the best job I could get, marriage, money, a home, and live happily ever after in the safety of my well-planned life.

For a while, I pulled it off.

I studied global affairs at NYU and went on to work in international development and with the United Nations, years inside high-stakes environments, in rooms where decisions shaped systems, communities, and lives. That world trained me to analyse complexity, read human behaviour under pressure, and track the subtle patterns underneath how people make decisions. I also got married. I built a home. I did the therapy. I took it all very seriously.

Then 2020 arrived and dismantled it all at once.

Life had other plans, and my grandest plan became only a prelude. I got stranded in India for 6 months, the Lebanese economy crashed, wiping out all my savings, and my 7-year-long relationship ended in a shocking divorce.

I was 27, and I had to face my biggest fears simultaneously, without warning, without mercy. I understood then and there that my only way out was bravery in every form: emotional, physical, spiritual, social, financial, intellectual, and moral.

As soon as I was able to, I travelled from India to Mexico, and then to Bali. I wasn’t on an aesthetic healing journey; I was slowly rebuilding myself, from the body first.

I trained as a yoga and meditation teacher and continued into Somatic practice, eventually also certifying as an integrative somatic practitioner. The body, hence, became my biggest discovery. Restoring coherence between the intellectual, analytical mind and the body as another form of intelligence became the core of the Brave Project mission.

The Brave Project became where I stored everything I found and everything I built along the way. It's the work I'm most proud of: a methodology that brings together analytical rigour, somatic intelligence, and courage in all its difficult forms.

Today, at 34, I work with people who have achieved success by every external measure and privately feel something going numb inside. People who make decisions from their heads alone, but who have slowly lost the connection to themselves. Something I’ve explored quite intimately for many years.

Courage is the undercurrent. It’s the virtue that makes every other virtue possible.

The Brave Project is the place where you build that courage! Steadily, honestly, and from the inside out.
